Wind Power Generation:
Bedford Machine & Tool has entered a new and promising field of machining. We have
started machining base castings for the wind power generation industry. These parts
sit on top of the towers you would see in a wind farm scattered thru the USA. The
castings we handle weigh up to 18 tons each. With this in mind, we have moved forward
with this work by adding two new horizontal boring mills. In addition, we are currently
adding a new gantry machine to increase production of parts to meet the growing
demands in this field. BMT believes that this industry will keep growing and prospering,
and we will be positioning ourselves to be leaders in this field for years to come.
